France Luxury Travel Review: Vimy, Normandy, Bayeux, 1-Week Vacation

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

Fabrice and Romane were excellent from start to finish. Very responsive and organized, attentive to our requests and sincerely interested in making sure our trip was a fantastic experience.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Having all arrangements made and accessible through the app made every day stress free so we could focus on enjoying the experience.  Vimy and Normandy were especially memorable and emotional, and the guides made the experience special. The hotel arrangements in Bayeux were especially nice.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Nothing - everything went well and was as expected, thanks to the team at the travel agency.

France Trip Review: Paris, Avignon, Provence, Local Cuisine, Winery, History, Culture, Nature, Private Tours

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

This trip exceeded my wildest dreams.  After reading the reviews and completing some information on the the website, Sophie reached out to me on a splendid day while I was walking my dog on Roosevelt Island near Washington DC.  I really did not know what I wanted to do in France other than to see Provence, Paris and to learn the language; however, based on our discussions, she sent an itinerary to me.  I independently consulted travel books and various websites.  What I found was that Sophie had touched on all the highlights, so much so, that I felt confident in finalizing the itinerary she had created for me.  We had discussed amazing things but she added many more amazing things making it seem almost like a dream.  She arranged a private tour that included riding a white horse of the Camargue to view the flamingos and other wildlife.  For our stays, Sophie chose luxurious centrally located upscale boutique hotels with excellent amenities, kind staff and comfortable rooms. Despite my mishap in the bathroom, the apartment in St. Remy de Provence was steps away from where Nostradamus was born.  It was beautifully appointed with a great deck that overlooked the city and a church that was built hundreds of years ago. We enjoyed nights of eating charcuterie and drinking local wines to the smell of baked croissants from the restaurant on the bottom floor of the apartment house. We also had access to amenities at the sister-hotel and could swim and view the Alpilles from the pool.  Sophie helped with train tickets, restaurant reservations and any complication that arose (I was there for six weeks).  Twice, she sent us bottles of champagne with kind messages to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Paris and to celebrate the  Fete Nationale Francaise or (Bastille Day). She arranged for reservations on the rooftop of an exquisite hotel-restaurant in St. Remy de Provence so that we could watch the fireworks.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

There were so many memories.  One of my most memorable days was the lavender fields in Valensole and Senanque Abbey (Gordes); the smell of the lavenders, the sound of the bees, the purple fields everywhere and the taste of lavender in the ice cream, honey and even wine.  Another highlight mentioned was watching the July the 14 fireworks while eating delicious food and drinking wonderful champagne from the rooftop of the hotel in St. Remy de Provence and then proceeding to the town center to see a live band and to watch people celebrate and dance.  Other highlights, I will remember are the private tours through the narrow streets, tasting delicious gourmet foods, desserts and champagnes in Paris and wandering in the Marais district and experiencing what is actually behind those huge wooden doors that line the narrow streets.  The guides were quite knowledgeable, interesting and engaging.  They were more than happy answer many questions and show us where the best macarons might be.  The Musee de L'armee had an amazing exhibit about the French resistance to Nazi occupation during WWII.  I found the propaganda posters, the Nazi German Flag artifact and a letter from an imprisoned French Resistance Fighter to his parents to be quite poignant.  We participated in a group cooking class located in Avignon that culminated into an amazing meal.  We were also able to shop for cheese, olives and charcuterie in the indoor market where the class was held.  I experienced the Market in St. Remy.  The tour of Cassis on the Mediterranean provided a boat tour of the white cliffs and I was able to sit on the beach with the small cobbles and soak my feet in the the cool sea water.  My guide provided a great history of the Palais de Papes in Avignon over coffee.  On the way to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, he provided great background of the village.  I had a tour of Domaine La Barroche in Châteauneuf-du-Pape that provided a tasting of the same wine from various years.  It was an fine example of how the character of the wine changes as the wine ages.  I also learned about how the character of the soil and age of the wines affects the characteristics of the grapes.  Of course they taught me about the appellations d’origine protegee.   I also learned how to taste wine in order to fully find its character.  In Aix en Provence, I was intrigued by the many facets of the fountain in the Cours Mirabeau. Also, I had a wonderful tour of the city that also involved food.  Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.  He talked about the part of Aix from the Middle Ages, the part from the Renaissance and the good king Rene.   Our group of three found him so interesting that we did not want him to leave.  I attended a piano recital of Adela Liculescu.  She played Schumann, Chopin, Kreisler/ Rachmaninov and Liebesleid et liebesbreud nad Gounod/ Liszt.  She was an amazing pianist.  I only had a credit card but the let my attend anyway although they only accepted Euros.  I attended the bull games in  St. Remy and I was told by a gentleman that I left my hat at the arena.  I was quite impressed by the willingness of the French people to help me.

England & France Family Vacation Review: London, Paris, Normandy, Theatre, 2-Week Trip

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France, England

We visited England and France in June-July 2023

We planned to take this trip in 2020 and had started booking it with this travel company, but it was upended by the pandemic.  We reached out to the travel agency again in 2022 to pick up where we left off and the whole experience was excellent.  Sophie provided an extensive list of things that we could do within our time in Europe.  Once we selected everything we were interested in, she was able to put together a great itinerary with excellent hotels and superb guides to meet our needs.  We had two boys (18 and 15), and three adults.  Sophie helped us find a great mix of activities to keep everyone interested.

Since the itinerary was custom, we could add guides where we wanted, which let us get the most out of our time at several sites.  We were also able to book transportation as well as dinner reservations throughout the trip.

This trip was the biggest (and most expensive) vacation we have scheduled. In an age of scams and online fraud, I was very nervous about their standard payment method being a bank wire.  I understand they are looking to avoid credit card fees, which would be significant.  My worries were unfounded – everything was exactly as promised and Sophie was available throughout our trip to ensure everything went off without a hitch, including a sick tour guide that had to be rescheduled within the hour.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

First of all,  our entire trip – including tickets to every venue – was laid out in an easy-to-use app so we could see what was happening each day and plan our schedules easily.  Sophie updated the app in real time when dinner reservations were added or if our train schedule changed.  With a family of 5, this extra organization reduced a lot of stress since everyone could just open the app and see where we were headed next.

Other highlights were the amazing seats to see Phantom of the Opera and our guides in London and Normandy, who were spectacular.  Each was engaging, knowledgeable and kept things moving so that the kids and adults were happy with the pace of our tours.  Booking everything ahead of time enabled us skip nearly every line and to spend our time enjoying the places we were visiting.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We would skip the food tour in Paris.  The description suggested we would be stopping at several shops to sample food but the guide apparently planned to do a walking tour of the city that culminated in a small market where we would do a wine and cheese lunch.  The problem was that she didn’t communicate this important difference, so our family showed up hungry and became even more so as the tour went on.

We spent only 2.5 days in Normandy and would spend more time there next time.  About 4 days would provide more time to tour the various cemeteries, museums and other places to visit.  Since the distance between some of the sites can be significant, the extra time seems appropriate.
Overall, the trip was spectacular and we would use this travel company again without reservation.

Spain & France Luxury Tour Review: San Sebastian, Basque Country, Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Museums

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France, Spain

Overall, we had a wonderful trip! Everything was really well planned and ran like clockwork. Knowing now what I do about the area, I think that I would have planned things a little differently, but we had a wonderful time and loved San Sebastian and the Basque country (and ate very well while we were there)! The hotel in San Sebastian was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it!  It's smaller than Londres so doesn't have a big restaurant or gym (although I think that there are gym/spa facilities that guests can use).  But it was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and the staff was wonderful. Our room looking straight out at the clock on the promenade and overlooking the beach was dreamy.  Breakfasts were from a menu, not buffet, but they were absolutely delicious.  And the concierge was also fabulous.  We messed up on our restaurant reservations and we were stuck one night with nowhere to go on a busy holiday weekend and couldn't get in anywhere. But they ended up calling several restaurants to get us in, and the restaurant that we ended up at was amazing.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We absolutely loved our day of touring Biarritz and St Jean de Luz with our guide.  She was amazing!  Not only was she really interesting and informative about the area, but she was also really sweet and so much fun! When she dropped us off at Arachon to meet our next driver and send us on our way, we were so sad to be leaving her!  I do wish that we had planned that for a different day because it was our first day and we were all so tired that we slept in late and then left late, so we were cut short on time a bit.  Bur Biarritz is a beautfiul seaside town with great shopping and Saint Jean de Luz is the prettiest little town on the water that had great little shops and cafes.  We definitely plan to go back to both!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We spent 4 nights in San Sebastian (and loved it), but I think that I would break it up next time and do maybe 3 nights there and 2 nights in Biarritz. Also, on the day that we went to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim, I would have allocated 2-3 hours in Bilbao just to see the museum and then left and toured a Spanish Basque village instead of touring Bilbao.

England, France, Monaco, Spain, Wine Tastings, Cooking Classes, Moulin Rouge

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France - England - Spain - Monaco

We really appreciated our travel agency and will look forward to using them again. They helped plan my son's college graduation trip and gave them great direction each day, making the experience a once in a lifetime experience. The team members were great, everything went like clockwork and this travel company really matched the boys with experiences that they enjoyed.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The cooking classes, wine tastings and excursions were planned perfectly based on the boys interests. They even helped plan a special birthday surprise at the Moulin Rouge.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We had a couple of hiccups during our trip that we wish we could have avoided:
We had an absolutely horrific experience with our taxi trip to the airport in Lyon. Dangerous and disrespectful driving.
We had a bit of an issue with the hotel in Burgundy, where rooms did not have a working air-conditioner. We were told by the management that they would follow up with us but we never heard back after we left.

Champagne Tour, Bordeaux Walking Tour, Lovure Musuem, Paris, Burgundy

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

We are very happy with our trip to France. We spent some time in Paris, Burgundy, Champagne and Bordeaux. Sophie (from the travel agency) was excellent- she promptly responded to all our inquiries and did her best to meet our requests. She offered great resources to make our trip special, the tour guides were knowledgeable and courteous; quality of instruction was superb by several of our guides. We learned so much, at some point we had to start taking notes so that we don't forget that we were told during our visits to wineries, museum, etc.

If we decide to go back to France, we will definitely be calling the travel agency again.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

This is what we enjoyed the most:

Tour of Dom Perignon - Our guide was fantastic! Her passion for wine can only be compared to her knowledge of everything to do with champagne. A very special thank you to our sommelier at Moet and Chandon

Walking tour of Bordeaux-  Our guide was great. Over only 2 hours, she gave us wealth of information, making it so much fun on a very hot day!

Tour of the Louvre- wow this was a last-minute change to our schedule and we were not even sure we wanted to do it on the last afternoon of our stay in Paris. But we would have missed a great deal if we didn't meet our guide. He is absolutely amazing, a walking encyclopedia of art history. We loved our tour with him.

Jazz Festivals, Medival Villages, Wine Tastings

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

If you are going to France then this travel agency is for you! If a custom trip is what you want, they will design it to your wishes. I thought my request may be too much. I wanted to see southern parts of France and while there attend 2 famous jazz festivals. They did the whole thing for me including VIP seats at the festivals!

The hotels were superb and the guides were fantastic. They were knowledgeable of the history, the culture, and of course, the wines. The wineries and wine tastings were great. Seamless transportation throughout the trip.

They even provided me with restaurant recommendations in each location.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Visiting some of the small medieval villages and the places where some of the great artists lived like Van Gough and Picasso. Of course, I really enjoyed the jazz festivals!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I did it just about right, I would not make any changes.

Paris, Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy, Bayeux, Nice, Monaco, Èze, Antibes, St. Tropez

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

We absolutely fell in love with France! Everything exceeded our expectations! Sophie from our travel agency went above and beyond to make sure our vacation wishes were all filled. We sent numerous emails back and forth to each other prior to leaving to finalize all the details. Sophie sent us a detailed agenda, with all the confirmations a week before our trip.  She contacted us throughout the week to make sure everything was OK. We would highly recommend using Sophie from this travel company!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We loved everything about it. Paris exceeded our expectations, it was very clean, the people were very friendly. The hotel we stayed at was walking distance from the Louvre.

The hotel at Mont St. Michel was down the street from the "castle". The tour guide for Normandy and Bayeux was very passionate and knowledgeable about the area

Nice - Oh my, where do I start? It was PARADISE! Our hotel was in the middle of Old Town, which we absolutely loved! The people, the food, the day trips (Monaco, Eze, Antibes, St. Tropez) all of it was amazing!!

Every night, my husband and I would sit outside at a restaurant, share a bottle of wine and people watch  :-)

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We loved everything about it!!

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

The trip was well planned out. Our travel agency listened to the things we liked to do and created a trip that fit us perfectly. The tours that were planned helped us get a feel for the cities. We enjoyed the Cabaret and the Eiffel Tower tour. We also LOVED the cooking class in Paris! Sophie was great helping out with a few natural hiccups that occurred during the trip. Nothing serious, but she was great in helping to create solutions. I would highly recommend this travel company and their team.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We really enjoyed the walking tour in London with the changing of the guards, and the cooking class in Paris!

France & England Family Vacation Review: Paris, Private Seine Cruise

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France & England

We were very impressed with our travel agency. They were very responsive, friendly and easy to work with. They assisted us with every detail of our vacation, and things could not have gone any smoother. They had creative ideas for tours, set up professional drivers and guides and provided us with a detailed itinerary that included names, contact numbers, ticket vouchers and additional information about every tour and event. Everything was taken care of ahead of time so there were no worries when we arrived.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We really enjoyed the areas of the cities that our travel agency chose for our hotels. They were fun, lively and interesting areas, and we really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods and discovering great restaurants, shops and other fun things. We also really enjoyed the walking tours that were arranged for us. The private evening river cruise on the Seine was definitely a highlight for our family. Sophie suggested a private cruise just for our family and we loved it!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I don't think I would do a driving tour in Paris! The traffic was crazy and we spent a lot of time in the car trying to navigate the traffic. We much preferred the walking tours!

France & Monaco Luxury Honeymoon Review: Champagne Tasting, Nice Beach, Monaco Grand Prix, French Riviera, Shopping & Villages

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France & Monaco

The travel company is a top tier full-service travel agency that provided a jam-packed custom travel itinerary designed with our interests in mind. We traveled to France for the first time for our honeymoon and we felt that we did all of the important activities for every city we were at, and we did not miss out on anything! We didn’t regret a single thing and we felt the luxury elements of private tour guides and extremely professional vendors were well worth the money. Sophie and Fabrice were very attentive and responsive to everything we asked and requested. All details were taken care of by the company and we had no worry in the world. All we had to do was show up to activity after activity and soak up all of the French culture and experience. We don’t think we’ll travel again without a travel company because our experience was so phenomenal and stress-free.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We loved the private tours and expedited access to attractions. We especially loved the champagne tasting, river cruise on the Seine, beach day in Nice, F1 race in Monaco, casino night in Monte Carlo, shopping in luxury stores and neighborhood markets, sightseeing the most beautiful views on the French Riviera and excursions to small villages. We also loved maximizing the few down time opportunities we had – for example, we went to Italy for lunch and went to an Irish pub in Paris. We enjoyed the numerous amazing restaurants and French cuisine.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Although we loved that our itinerary was jam-packed, next time we might try to build in more leisure time. But there was nothing else that we would have done differently. Next time we are in France, we will be sure to refresh our French language skills so we can converse with the locals.

Paris, Normandy, Sacre Coeur, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Seine Dinner Cruise, Loire Valley, Versailles

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

Hi Sophie, From the moment we landed, even with the cloudy, misty weather, our tour guide was wonderful. We loved our stop at Sacre Coeur and seeing all of the other locations he took us to. He also gave us quite a bit of historical information as well as current news! He was a great start to our trip.  While our trip would have been fantastic even if it rained every day, by 2:00PM on the day we arrived the sun came out and it pretty much stayed that way for the rest of our stay (it did rain in Paris on the Wednesday we were in France, however that was the day we went to Normandie and the weather there was warm and sunny!). On our food tour we were both surprised that it was only us! Our guide was amazing and very sweet! She took us on a wonderful walk as we ate our way through St. Germain de Pres. Thank you for that choice! Later that night we had our Seine dinner cruise and were somewhat surprised at how good the food was (we had eaten at three very good restaurants the previous nights, so we were expecting the food to be not as good). Anyway, the cruise was great also, another outstanding choice by you!Thursday was a 'free' day for us and because of the continued sunshine allowed us to continue our walking exploration of Paris, visiting il etait un square (supposedly Paris' best hamburger) and then Luxembourg Gardens before heading back to our hotel and getting ready for the Moulin Rouge. WOW, what a show, what great seats (one table back from the stage), and again surprised at the quality of the food! Thank you, thank you! Just for your information, the following restaurants are where we ate with La Gazette, Chez Gabriel, Le Hide, and Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote all very close to our hotel. They were all magnifique! As for our hotel, we loved its location (close enough for me to take a long walk in the Bois de Boulogne) which allowed us to walk to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower (loved the fountains at the Jardins du Trocadero), the room upgrade was outstanding overlooking the courtyard garden, and every staff person treated us like royalty! Finally, all of the above is just our way of trying to express our gratitude to you for being a warm, courteous, caring, and thoughtful person and for setting up this most memorable time for us! Nous te remercions du fond du coeur!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We loved the Louvre, stopped for a sandwich at the Cul De Cochon, and walked all the way back to our hotel part way along the Seine, through Tuileries Garden, along the Champs-Elysees, and past the Arc de Triomphe. Our trip to the Loire Valley was terrific, weather great, and each of the three castles distinctive in their own way. Our driver and guide was wonderful.  Normandie was simply incredible! I could write for an hour and not be done expressing what we felt being there, it was a bucket list item for me that I will remember forever. Our driver and tour guide was excellent! Stopped for lunch at a local restaurant and also at a small local farm to sample the farms apple brandy! Versailles on Friday, our last day, was a great way to spend half a day, and it left me wanting to go back and just walk through all of the paths to see all of the fountains. Maybe one day again. Our last dinner at Signature Montmartre, below the Sacre Coeur, was delicious!

Paris, Montmartre, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Gourmet Tour

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

France

My wife and I had the opportunity to spend 4 days in Paris in May 2022. It was our first trip ever to Paris, and while we were familiar with the major tourist attractions (who isn't?), we had no idea how to approach this trip and maximize our time in this wonderful city.  We are so happy we turned to this travel company for their help. They brainstormed with us, and they asked many questions about our interests when we travel, and they were clear on our budget. When we pushed back on one or two of their ideas, they quickly provided us with other options. In the end, they put together a terrific tour for us. The key was the outstanding level of communication with Fabrice and Sophie. While there were plenty of emails back and forth, there were also several phone calls that took place promptly as scheduled. They never made us feel rushed and were happy to answer the same questions more than once until they knew we had absorbed all the information they were providing us. Even while in Paris, they were easy to contact via text and phone (and replied very quickly) when questions arose. They were also on top of the ever-changing requirements and restrictions in this Covid era. Fabrice and Sophie are committed to making sure their travelers have an excellent trip. In our case, we are especially appreciative of all they accomplished in structuring our trip with not much advance time and little guidance from us. Our travel agency utilizes a very helpful and easy-to-use app that keeps everything in one place. It was great to have on our phone our entire itinerary, vouchers and tickets, maps, walking directions, even photos of meeting spots. My wife and I now talk about returning to France someday, probably to explore another region of the country, and we will certainly reach out to this travel company again.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Our travel company arranged two private tours for us. Just the two of us and a guide. One was a three-hour tour of Montmartre, and the other was a three-hour gourmet eating tour of St. Germain-des-Pres. These tours were so much more informative than walking around with an audio guide or reading signs or a guidebook. Plus, it is so gratifying to spend time with and get to know a local, even if it is for only a few hours.  No question, these tours were the most enriching experiences we had in Paris. For example, it's one thing to see Renoir's Bal du moulin de la Galette in the Musee d'Orsay. It was quite another to see that painting after having spent time in the neighborhood of the moulin de la Galette and learning from a knowledgeable guide what the area was like in the 1870s.

London Family Tour Review: England, Thames River Cruise, London Bridge

Which Countries did you visit on this trip?

England

I work and was really looking forward to a trip to Europe with my kids.  We selected London, and were so grateful for all the assistance, advice, and support provided by the owners of the travel company.  They were so great to collaborate with in setting up our customized itinerary.  Also, the vendors/ private tour guides we had during the trip were so wonderful.  Our tour guide became almost a part of our family.  What a great experience to be able to have a plan in place for vacation.  I was able to enjoy my time and not worry about logistics.  We enjoyed all that was planned.  I am already dreaming about our next trip and highly recommend this company as someone to chose to work with. Thank you so much for making travel easy and fun!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The best part of the trip was the trip.  I never had to worry about logistics.  The itinerary was clear.  I loved the app on my phone and the care and details on where to meet, pick up tickets, and just the thoughtfulness showed to make the agenda fun.  I did not miss out on anything I wanted to see with my family while in London.  We have so many great memories, but overall, I loved that I never had to worry about a thing and I really could enjoy our vacation. I loved our private guides during the trip.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

- I would not book the London Bridge Experience.  It was not that good.  Also while the Thames River cruise had great views, it was late for the kids and the meal did not give them great options.  Overall, these would be two adjustments that I would consider when planning future trips.  It might be worth advising someone to consider other options.

We would spend more time in Bordeaux and visit more museums.

France Tour Review, Perigord Region, Dordogne, Prehistoric Cave Paintings, Chateau Tours & Stay, Bordeaux & Paris Markets

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

It was a marvelous trip! There were three of us and our travel planner sent us to the best hotels - we even stayed in a chateau (castle) and visited places that were related to the books that our friend Mary and Linda were reading (Bruno mysteries by Martin Walker).  We had fabulous meals. The planner found the best guides for us - at the market in Bordeaux and in Paris. Mary even went on an additional tour of Monbazillac and Chateau Rothschild and her guides were terrific as well. Our planner recommended interesting places to visit, and got us tickets in advance so that we could see Lascaux IV and the chateau at Commarque. She made things easy by getting us train reservations and having cars pick us up, arranged a trip for Mary that was not initially planned (see above), and then came and met us for coffee! Sophie, thank you so much! We have traveled with two other companies in Ireland and Scotland and this travel company is one of the best we've used.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Linda and I loved the prehistoric cave paintings and after visiting Lascaux IV we went to two other caves which still show original artwork.  Lascaux IV is a copy.  The original is closed to prevent further damage by human visits. The food in the Perigord and Dordogne was fabulous and we dined at some very special places.  The restaurant at the hotel in Brantome was amazing (both breakfast and dinner) and we loved staying there! Staying in the Chateau in Mercues was also very special - it was a real castle and we had dinner, and of course, breakfast, there as well - terrific food. There was just so much that was memorable!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Well, Linda really wanted to meet Martin Walker from Bugue and have him sign a couple of books that we carried with us during the entire trip. We sat in Bugue for a morning during the market wondering if we might see him, but we didn't. When we go again, we will make that happen!

Provence, Nice, Carrieres de Lumieres, Monet's Garden in Giverny, Evening Dinner Cruise, Monte Carlo

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We had a wonderful two-week trip to France planned with Sophie at French Touch Travel. We enjoyed 5 days in Paris, 4 days in Provence (Avignon, Arles, and St. Remy,) and 4 days in Nice, with a day trip to Monaco and Monte Carlo. It was a treat and a luxury to be met by guides and to be shown so many wonderful sights. All three guides were very well informed and gave us such good insight into the culture and sights in each area.

We saw everything we wanted to see. Sophie worked with us on sights and areas that we were interested in visiting and then coordinated a plan and a schedule that included everything we wanted. The schedule also allowed several half days of free time for us to enjoy each destination on our own.

It was a wonderful way to experience so much of France, and we can highly recommend French Touch Travel and particularly Sophie Caiveau our travel planner.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Some highlights of the trip included visiting Monet's Garden at Giverny, walking in the footsteps of Van Gogh in Arles, and experiencing a spectacular sound and light show of Van Gogh's images in an immense quarry (Carrieres des Lumieres) in Les Baux de Provence. An evening dinner cruise on the Seine in Paris with Bateaux Parisiens was also a highlight, departing just beneath the Eiffel Tower.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I can't really think of anything we would change. There were no hitches along the way with the planned schedule, and all the guides and drivers were right on time and very friendly and knowledgeable.

France Tour, Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, Cadillac, Bike Tour, Wine Tastings, 3-Day Trip

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Sophie was wonderful. She was responsive, very patient, made good suggestions and helped us feel informed prior to the trip and cared for during the trip.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

i wanted something very specific, to travel safely through the countryside of Bordeaux on an electric bike and navigate from town to town. the bikes were in good condition, the guidance easy to navigate and i didn't feel like we had to rush.. everything seemed very well planned and realistic in general.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

While we did really like the restaurant included in the package in St Emilion, we probably would have preferred some autonomy in choosing our meals locally.

Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Luberon Villages, Saint Tropez, History & Beauty, Cooking Class

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Researching and planning a vacation is stressful and time consuming, especially when planning last minute. French Touch Travel took the stress out of our vacation planning because we were also indecisive on which country we wanted to visit - Italy vs France. Our agent, of this travel team, was very personable and highly efficient. She did an amazing job putting our South of France itinerary together. All of the arrangements and recommendations from car service to hotels to tours to cooking classes were superb and exceeded our expectation. I will definitely use French Touch Travel services again. Thank you to Sophie our agent and French Touch Travel for providing an unbelievable trip of a lifetime.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We really enjoyed visiting difference village in the Luberon valley and staying in St Remy. Each village was similar but still unique with their own history and beauty. We really enjoyed the cooking class with Chef Yvan at a restaurant in Saint-Remy-de-Provence. We will certainly remember St Tropez with its beautiful beaches. We recommend the beach club.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We covered a lot of ground in 9 days. If we had the same amount next time I think we'd stay longer in one place, perhaps St Tropez, and not do as many day tours.

Lyon, World Cup, Wine & Gastronomy Tours, Culture

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip to Lyon and the World Cup games was made truly exceptional, thanks to Sophie our travel planner with this travel company!  We were able to to soak in the local culture through informative wine and gastronomy tours, simplified with knowledgeable, english-speaking guides and drivers.  Our itinerary was the perfect complement to the games and was a perfect fit for our family.  Sophie also reached out during our trip and while everything ran smoothly, it was great to know we had her as a trouble-shooting resource if needed.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Obviously, the games and watching the American team do so well and ultimately win, stand out for us, but even there, this travel company was instrumental in making that experience trouble free and seamless by arranging for a driver to and from each game.  After the final game and the awards ceremony, we were driven back to the hotel where other Americans were staying for the games.  We beat everyone else back by over an hour, with little effort on our part.  While I love public transportation in general, I was concerned about our ability to efficiently navigate an unfamiliar system when that system would be at capacity.  The driver was the right way to go, in keeping all of our games memories great!

We also loved our 2 wine tours!  Our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the region and wine-making.  We came away with a much better understanding about the French appellations, their requirements, and benefits, as it relates to making superior wines.  We are already talking about returning and exploring other wine regions!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

While I loved our hotel, its amenities and its fabulous staff, it was in a challenging location, halfway up a steep hill.  Given that we were staying for and during the World Cup, other 5 star options were booked when we were trying to secure lodgings.  I discussed all this with Sophie our travel planner and given the alternatives at the time of booking, I think we made the right choice.  I guess the thing I would do differently would be to book earlier and have a 5 star option down the hill!

France Trip, Cooking Class, 2-Week Tour

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

French Touch Travel helped us plan a two-week vacation in France. I already had a preliminary itinerary, so French Touch Travel was most helpful in finding accommodations, setting up guides and reserving busy attractions, and suggesting transportation within France. We had some contingencies come up in France, and were able to get them resolved while on our trip. We visited three regions in France, and I would recommend French Touch Travel to anyone with a varied itinerary.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

They were numerous. Our three guides and the one cooking class were excellent. We also had great accommodations in all cities we visited.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Nothing really, except if I go back to France I would like to see Nice, Dordogne, and Mt. Saint Michel, which I've missed on my two visits. We didn't have enough time in either.

Normandy Region, Mont Saint-Michel Sunset & Visit, Art, History & Scenery

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip to France was amazing!

Sophie our tour planner was exceptional and she is the reason we will use French Touch Travel again in the future!

Sophie designed a wonderful tour of Normandy and the surrounding towns.  She was responsive and provided all information in the time frame that she stated.

The art, the history and the beauty of northern France was captured in our visit.  The guides that Sophie arranged were informative, thoughtful of our plans and wishes, and provided ease and relaxation to our travels!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The most memorable experience was the time that we spent on Mont St Michel.  We have wanted to visit and were fortunate to be able to stay overnight on the Mont!  During the day it is bustling with tourists but at 4:30 pm the crowds disappear and the Mont becomes quiet and almost eerie!  Our guide advised us to walk out on the causeway and watch the sun set beside the Mont!  What can we say, it was exceptional!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Well, we really enjoyed St. Malo!

If we were to return, we would choose to spend a day to enjoy the beauty, history and the people of St. Malo!

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip planner Sophie was on it from day one. She asked questions and responded to my answers. She remained flexible through the planning process. She was prompt with her suggestions and replies. She stayed on task even after we arrived in France, which was beyond my expectations. She monitored our progress as we traveled and made herself available for questions and concerns.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

In Paris, the Louvre and Palace at Versailles were amazing. I would like to have spent more time at the Louvre than the 3 hours we did spend. I think 2-3 hours a day for 2-3 days is more fitting for all the amazing art and history.

Marseilles turned out to be a great 36 hours primarily because our tour guide for the day took us to Aix en Provence and Cassis as part of the tour. This included a couple great marketplaces and some great views of the French Riviera from high overlooks. Walking around Nice was great fun and included an unplanned lunch at the best restaurant we encountered on our trip - right on the shoreline just west of the boat harbor.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I would spend a bit more time at the Louvre and then head to different regions just for the variety. No regrets regarding this trip, whatsoever.

South of France Tour, St. Tropez, Monaco, Paris Food Tour

Which Country (Countries) did you visit on this trip?

France

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We loved our trip planned by French Touch Travel and would work with them again! They were knowledgeable about french excursions and offered several options with experiences to participate in. Every city we went to was beautiful and we had a blast with our tour guides who were passionate about the places they introduced us to. The drivers who transported us from one place to the next were punctual and friendly. Overall we had a great time and recommend anyone thinking about planning a trip to France to go with French Touch Travel. Thanks to Sophie for all your hard work!

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The food tour in Paris; South of France tour; St. Tropez; Monaco

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Change the dates. We arrived during cold weather in May, and it was offseason in the South of France.

Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Highly responsive, knowledgeable and committed to organizing an outstanding trip in every respect.  Our agent was a delight to work with and remained in close contact throughout our exciting and varied 2 week trip across France.  She was creative in mixing traditional activities with some sites off the beaten path, and all were exactly what we were seeking.  No detail was overlooked and all venues were outstanding,.  We had an unforgettable time.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Everything.  Our agent arranged very personalized activities - a 1:1 wine tour with an oenologist, a family -run cider wine vineyard visit, lunch in a chateau with the owner.  Everything was very special.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Really nothing.  The timing, style and venues fit exactly what we were seeking but might be too ambitious for some seeking a restful time in a single place.  Even though we saw many places, it never felt rushed or overdone.

I had booked some of the travel arrangements earlier on my own, yet our travel agent readily answered questions about them that I couldn't find the answers.  She also checked in with us periodically through email, and was available 24/7 in country to help us when our B&B host did not speak English and we were arriving late. Our agent also went above and beyond to help us with an unexpected travel change due to an accident. I highly recommend this agent and her company for your France travel.

My daughter and I just returned from our fabulous 2 week trip to France, specifically Paris, Provence, and the Côte d'Azur. Our travel specialist prepared an itinerary which perfectly fit what we had wanted, with special touches which she suggested we would also enjoy. And she was right!  Great guides, wonderful hotels, and seamless itinerary. Memories for a lifetime.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The most memorable parts of the trip were many. There was the gourmet walking tour in Paris, Monet's home, studio, and gardens in Giverny, the perched villages of Provence, and the cooking class outside of Nice to name a few.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Can't think of a thing!
